You dont 'need' strength. The average warrior has 8-10 points in it, but some have as little as 5. Every rank in str gives 1% AP. Doesnt always make the biggest difference, but its sometimes nice.

1% AP on attack skills only. It's largely garbage that you spec into if there's nothing else you need.

I agree with JR-

You don't make a primary warrior for the Strength attribute; it only really works against high-armored enemies and it's not really that much.

My warrior has 13 Strength, but only to use Sentinel's armor and because he needs something to fuel Flourish; awesome skill when you're using daggers.

It's nice because it powers Dolyak Signet, the solo farmer's best friend. That being said I run it at 10 (9+1) most of the time, and at 13(12+1) only when stance tanking.

depends on what you are doing i guess.. in pvp sometimes the armor peneration and sprint/rush duration does come in handy but you can do without it like thumpers... if you want run it with strength this spread might be good.. 9+1 strenght 12+1+1 axe/sword/hammer mastery 9+1 tactics. It really depends on what you are doing.. if you are gonna fight armor mobs in pve then its a good idea to take it, but if you'd rather but some into healing prayers for mending >.< then i guess its not too bad if u take it away from strength.

No, it is not allowed, sorry, wimpy weak warriors are just not allowed!

You can do whatever you want, it is your game and your character. Without any strength-based skills in use and without Sentinel's armor there is no compelling reason to put more than the left-over points in it.

Weapon mastery for damage, tactics for healing.
Only have like 5 points left for strength.

Unless you're not intent on doing any damage with your weapon [less than 16 weapon, no LESS than 14 weapon], then there's not much point...

I run 16 weapon on my warrior about 80% of the time. Only time I don't is with the Sorrow's Furnace soloing build, I run 14 tactics, 12 sword, 11 strength...

yeah, strength is only good for Dolyak Signet or Strength Signet [the fact you can use Str. Sig. 2x back to back is NASTY for dmg buildup, just cast it at the beginning of the mission....]

The only reason to put points in an attributes that u dont use any skills is to wear a given item.

For exemple, a warrior that uses healing prayers and swordsmanship skills only may want to pump his str or tact to 9 in order to wear a shield.

yeah, but i run 10 strength ONLY because i always bring stuff like... dolyak, sprint and some other strength stuff. if i dont use a str skill then i spread my attrb in my what i need first then use the leftovers in str.

hope this helps.

Yea, I usually only use my leftover points in strength - about 5 or 6. But when I'm running/farming it's always more. Strength as a Primary attribute (not including skill usage) is by far the worst attribute in the game. They should've made it so that for every point in Strength you would have 1% of getting double adrenaline when attacking as well as the crit hits.

Overall my strength is pretty high, but i use my warrior most for farming.
Then it's very handy to have 13 in strength.

And if you're farming foes using only melee attacks, go as a W/E with some points in earth magic, with Silver armor and some in Tactics, with Glad's defense, and alot in Strength for doly.

Watch and see them killing themself.

OK the way I see it is that str like most all primary skill isnt all that important.
The reason i say that is because if u happen to use str for ur build well great it wont make that much of a difference in ur damage though. Its ben like this with most all proffesions. Assasins having critical strike doesnt make a huge difference. Mesmers having fast casting just makes spells recharge A BIT faster, and so on.

So all im trying to say is if u have some spare points then go ahead and throw them in str other wise it wont make a huge difference.

p.s. look on the bright side though as a warrior u have the best armour of all the proffesions, well against damage that is.

hold on though, then why does the description of Strength say it has 1% armor penetration for each point of strength while us "attack skills", which sounds like it means any attack skills like Galrath slash, etc?

Um.

Because it gives you 1% armor penetration per point of strength while using attack skills, like Galrath Slash..?
